submit an entry for the 2018 desert destination log!
a collaborative collection of information about local sites of interest
submission deadline EXTENDED to january 15, 2018

Do you have a passion for a must-see destination in the High Desert area or beyond (up to a day-trip's distance from Joshua Tree)? High Desert Test Sites and A-Z West are now accepting submissions for the 2018 edition of our Desert Destination Log! The A-Z West/HDTS Desert Destination Log is a collaborative collection of information about local destinations and sites of interest that have been either gathered over time for research purposes, or have been submitted by friends of HDTS and A-Z West residents. The second edition will come out in early 2018, and will be available to purchase at the HDTS HQ, on the HDTS web store, and at a few other exciting locations TBA!

We very much value contributions to the log from both our visitors and locals who have knowledge of special places or unknown histories of the area. To submit an entry for possible inclusion in the 2018 Desert Destination Log, please send your entry (max. 250 words please!) and accompanying photograph of the site (landscape oriented) to by January 15, 2018. Multiple submissions are welcome! If selected you will be credited for your entries.
Here is a wish list of future subjects - please send us entries on these and more: Malki Museum, C&S Coffee Shop, Tortoise Rock Casino in 29 Palms, The Virginian in 29 Palms, CLUI’s Desert Research Station, antique shops in Yucca Valley, Big Bear Mountain, Idyllwild, hikes in JT National Park, King of the Hammers, Gruber Orchid Farm, Pioneertown Preserve, history of Jojoba farming in the area, etc! The Desert Destination Log is already almost 200 pages long, so if you want to write something but think we might already have entries about it, shoot us an email (for example, we already have 4 entries about Bob Carr’s Crystal Cave and The Integratron, but somehow there aren’t any on Noah Purifoy Foundation!)
