High Desert Test Sites and Epicenter are currently seeking volunteers to help host, document, and facilitate HDTS: Epicenter, a weekend long convergence set in the stunning landscape of Southern Utah. Co-organized by High Desert Test Sites and Epicenter, volunteering will give you access to a unique contemporary art experience, working directly with contributing artists to help realize their artworks. If you're interested, email us with a specific role in mind, as well as your availability through the long weekend of October 9th-12th, 2015.
Assist with art installations, site preparation, and signage installation. Includes postering and promotions. (Preferred dates: October 5th-9th)
We will need friendly faces to help us direct traffic, distribute information, and to ensure that all participants and observers are having a positive experience. Hosts will also ensure that all HDTS: Epicenter attendees leave no trace, leading trash pickups, and directing guests to utilize public lands in a respectful manner.
Documentation & Social Media
HDTS: Epicenter is a vast and dynamic event. Your efforts to help document the experience will help us tell the story to a broader public. Multiple positions available. Please respond with how you would like to contribute, and what equipment you plan to use.
- Photography and film: High Definition preferred (but not required!)
- Social media: Help run our instagram for the weekend, live-tweet the events, write a narrative of your experience for our blog, send out reports in smoke signals. This position is open to interpretation. Send us some ideas!
Runners: Unexpected issues always come up. Runners will be available to run errands for event staff and artists on an as needed basis. Car preferred, as HDTS: Epicenter takes place over a vast area. First aid experience also a bonus.
Clean-Up: We are seeking volunteers to help wrap up the event, ensuring that we leave no trace at each location. Installation breakdown, transportation of equipment and materials, as well as trash pick-up will be organized at each location. (Preferred dates: October 11th & 12th)
